Spiritual Encounter (SE) is a vision that was birthed from the mind of urban youth ministry pioneer, Dr. Irishea Hilliard in 2000. The loud music from the live DJ's, the best in urban gospel entertainment, the lights and the pyro are just the beginning to what Spiritual Encounter is. Its just that, a place for young people to encounter God. The investment made by the host church, New Light Church (Bishop I.V. Hilliard, Founder), to make sure that there is no registration fee for SE attendees is sure to pay off unimaginable dividends. To date, SE has touched the lives of over 50,000+ teenagers. Every year, 5000 teenagers (ages 13-19) flock to Houston, TX for a life-changing experience.
